Initially off, I have last years model. From what I can tell, the distinction is the color scheme. I purchased this for my daughter when she was about 4 months old. She's 11 months now. At very first, she did not like the vibrating, as it created her itchy and she'd rub her face. Now that she's older, she's OK with the vibrating mode. It is good and portable and is fine for keeping her put for a short though. She does get bored in it if stuck there for too lengthy...but not substantially additional than others factors that are confining. At her present age, the activity center does the job a small greater, but a bit bulkier, so this is outstanding for hauling into the bathroom and keeping her secure and in view although I shower. Oh, so now that is she older she is able to yank off the toys that can be velcroed to the top bar. Not a significant deal. Try the linkadoos and attach your kid's toy du jour to the links...attached in turn to the waist strap. DD is fond of throwing toys overboard these days, so with the links, they don't go far, and she can then reach over and retrieve them herself.

NOW, I Have to MENTION TWO items I do not like about this item. 1st, my daughter is not but tall enough to reach her feet to the floor and rock herself, and she gets a bit frustrated at staying nonetheless in the non-rocking position for too extended. I know that in time, she'll grow and that concern will be resolved.

But, the MOST Significant thing to note, is not to assume your kid is protected and secure if you dash out of webpage for a moment. My daughter leans so far forward in the chair now (but is unable to reach the floor with her feet), that the whole cloth back just comes forward with her, since she's strapped in. No major deal I thought, till...I left the area for a moment, and when I returned, she was crawling on the floor! I have NO thought how my small houdini did it, but I had her buckled in...and the waist strap was nonetheless buckled! The chair wasn't even overturned! There she was nearby examining our heat register in the floor. We were Especially lucky given that there were other non-baby-safe items inside her reach and the door to the space was open...and the property not however completely baby-proofed. My husband and I were in utter amazement and the only factor we could come up with is that she leaned so far forward to reach some thing on the ground in front of her, that her body just folded more than itself and she simnply somersaulted out of the chair...her legs sliding out of the belt (and it really is on the tightest setting...but nevertheless does not fit as snug as I consider it must...but I by no means thought THAT would take place). The chair must have just rocked back into it's upright position...and there she was crawling around pleased-go-lucky unscathed by the event.

Our son loved this rocker as a newborn (1-two months). We pulled out the "kickstand" and that allowed him to be in a flat position and he was particularly comfy. Most bouncers are too upright fro newborns. Also, the rocker has two recline positions for you baby's comfort.

As he got older (three-four months), we would push in the "kickstand" in so we could use the rocking feature. He liked getting even more upright than flat at this age. He liked to look around and play with the toy bar. Also, we could rock him to sleep.

But, once (about five-6 months) when he was attempting to sit up and lean forward he fell more than (the purpose for 3 stars only). He was strapped in, so the chair fell more than with him. I was in the identical area as he was and he is fine - he was just a bit startled.

(Assume about sitting in a rocking chair and leaning forward - if you cannot lean back then you would fall forward.)

I put it away for now and will try it when he can climb in and out of the rocker on his own.
