I have this seat and the bumbo. Here's my observation of my 3 1/two month son in each:

BUMBO

+ Made of sturdy polyeurophane (sp?) lightweight

- No attached toys (might possibly be a great thing if you are picky in a position what goes in the mouth)

- Child typically drops toys on floor even when there is a tray attached causing frustration

- Leg opening actually tight on chubbier legs

SUMMER INFANTACTIVITY SEAT

I think the bumbo is widely used given that it is industructable and serves its purpose well (aids non-sitters sit), but if your youngster is like mine he/she will get definitely frustrated that he/she is stuck in this chair with nothing to do (except attempt to escape to retreave his dropped toys).
