I have both the firefly and the turtle. Each have pros and cons. I choose the turtle mainly because of the sizeable mirror on his belly. My newborn has been fascinated with this due to the fact she was a month old. The firefly mirror on the wing is too compact to interest her even even though she is now three months old. Even so, the tangling teether from the firefly really should come in handy in one more month or two. If you had been to acquire only a single Lamaze for a newborn, I advocate the turtle for its nice size mirror.
